A ROUSING atmosphere lit up Sherdley Park as crowds revelled in the fun at CloneFest.

In the glorious summer weather, audiences were given a musical treat as tributes to some of the biggest names in music took to the Sherdley stage.

Saturday's festival ran from the early in the afternoon, all the way into into the night time as the crowds were entertained by a feast of musical hits.

Acts throughout the day included tributes to Kings of Leon; Kasabian; The Jam; The Rolling Stones; Bob Marley and the Housemartins and Beautiful South.

Headlining on the day were Killers tribute band The Fillers, who rounded off the event with a resounding rendition of Mr Brightside to round off CloneFest 2019 in style.

Meanwhile, Stereophonics tribute The Phonics also delighted the crowds.

And spinning the decks on the day was indie DJ and host Dave Sweetmore.

The event followed on from last year's inaugural CloneFest which was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Stone Roses tribute act The Clone Roses.

Organiser Gav Scott said: "It was a great day and the weather held out.

"The fans were in top form and made a really good atmosphere again."
