NOTIFICATION OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE ST. HELENS LOCAL PLAN PREFERRED OPTIONS
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 that St. Helens Council is consulting on the St. Helens Local Plan Preferred Options.
The new Local Plan will be a Development Plan Document that sets out how much new development for housing, employment and other uses should take place in the Borough, where development should take place and policies to be taken account of when assessing planning applications for development. Once adopted, the Local Plan will be used to guide development in the Borough up to 2033.
The Council will be publishing the St. Helens Local Plan Preferred Options on Monday 5th December 2016 and is inviting comments from members of the public on the content of the document. Any comments should be received by no later than noon on Monday 30th January 2017.
A Draft Green Belt Review, Sustainability Appraisal and Habitat Regulations Assessment are also available for comment alongside the Local Plan Preferred Options.
The Council are hosting a series of public consultation events across the Borough and welcomes anyone who wishes to find out more about the Local Plan to attend. The events will run as follows: Eccleston Library, Wednesday 7th December, 2pm - 6:30pm; Garswood Library, Thursday 8th December, 2pm-6:30pm; Haydock Library, Friday 9th December, 2pm-6:30pm; Central Library, Saturday 10th December, 11am- 3:30pm; Rainford Library, Monday 12th December, 2pm-6:30pm; Chester Lane Library, Tuesday 13th December, 2pm-6:30pm; Newton-le-Willows Library, Thursday 15th December, 2pm-6:30pm, Rainhill Library, Monday 19th December, 2pm-6:30pm; St. Helens Town Hall, Wednesday 21st December, 10am-5:30pm, Thursday 12th January 2017, 10am-5.30pm and Central Library, Saturday 14th January 2017, 11am-3:30pm.

Copies of the Local Plan Preferred Options, along with accompanying documents including the Sustainability Appraisal and official comment forms will be made available at the Regeneration Reception, Ground Floor, St. Helens Town Hall, St Helens from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and at all local St. Helens libraries (please check local branch for opening times or visit www.sthelens.gov.uk). Documents can also be viewed and downloaded online at: www.sthelens.gov.uk/localplan.
