THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST HELENS (TRAVERSE STREET, TOWN CENTRE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that St Helens Council, In exercise of Its powers under Sections 9, 10 and 11 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make an Order, the effect of which will be as specified In the Schedule attached to this Notice.
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO LOADING AT ANY TIME
Traverse Street Southern section (Northern side)
FROM Its junction with the south eastern kerb line of the western arm of Traverse Street
Its junction with north western kerb line of the eastern arm of Traverse Street
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting and loading at any time on the northern side of the southern section of Traverse Street between its eastern and western arms.
The Order will be implemented initially on an experimental basis for eighteen (18) months, until 8th October 2022, after which time it will be reviewed. The Council may then make the Order permanent or abandon it. The Order will come into operation on 8th April 2021.
It is intended that the prohibition will work alongside a two-way cycle lane of the southern side of this section of Traverse Street and that it will assist people to cycle, as an alternative means of travel. This prohibition will ensure there is enough carriageway for vehicles to pass the cycle lane safely without encountering parked/loading vehicles.
