BOROUGH COUNCIL OF BOLTON
COUNCIL TAX - EMPTY PROPERTIES

This is a statutory notice that the Council has made a determination under sections 11A and 11B of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (as amended) that, with effect from 1 April 2021, the following locally set changes to council tax will apply:

Classification of dwelling
Description of class
Amount of council tax payable from 1 April 2021
Class C
A dwelling which is unoccupied and substantially unfurnished
A full council tax charge is payable for up to 2 years.
After 2 years, a 100% premium applies.
After 5 years, a 200% premium applies.
After 10 years, a 300% premium will apply.

Reference to this class is prescribed by the Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings) (England) Regulations 2003 (as amended).
