Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order Highways Act 1980 Section 119
Wigan Borough Council (Public Footpath Golborne No.68 (Part)) Public Path Diversion Order 2019.
On the 2nd December 2019, the Assistant Director of Legal confirmed the
above-named Order under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert Public Footpath No 68 (part)
from its existing line which runs from a point 170 metres south west of its junction
with Public Footpath No. 67 at the junction with the access to Lowton Church
of England High School off Canaan and marked A on the Order map. The public
footpath heads south, south east across the school field for a distance of
approximately 220 metres to a point marked B on the Order map.
The diverted footpath will commence at a point marked A on the Order map and
will run in a south, south easterly direction for approximately 195 metres then in
a south westerly direction for approximately 15 metres, and then in a south, south
easterly direction for approximately 25 metres to a point marked B on the Order
map. This diverted route runs around the perimeter of the school field.
The width of the footpath will be 1.5 metres. It will have a natural surface and
there is an existing self-closing gate.
A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map may be seen at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan between 9am and 4.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday.
If any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in the Order, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 within 6 weeks from the date on which the Notice is first published as required by Schedule 2 to that Act.
Wigan Borough (Tyldesley No. 139,141,142 & 151) (Temporary Closure) Order 2020 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Environmental Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to him by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Tyldesley No. 139,141,142 & 151) (Temporary Closure) Order 2020.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable, from using the following footpaths: Tyldesley No. 139 from its junction with Chaddock Lane at Point E on the Order Map at grid reference 371122 400994 for a distance of approximately 153 metres in a northerly direction to Point B on the Order Map at grid reference 371108 401138.
Tyldesley No. 141 from its junction with Kendal Road at Point A on the Order Map at grid reference 371247 401233 in a westerly then southerly direction to Point B on the Order Map at grid reference 371108 401138 for a distance of approximately 230 metres.
Tyldesley No. 142 commences at Point C on the Order Map at grid reference 371201 401235, going in a generally north westerly direction to Point D on the Order Map at grid reference 371090 401330 where it meets public bridleway Tyldesley No. 143 on Garrett Lane.
Tyldesley No. 151 commences at Point B on the Order Map at grid reference 371108 401138 and runs in a westerly direction for approximately 55 metres to Point F on the Order Map at grid reference 371065 401138 to its junction with public footpath Tyldesley No. 152 and the newly created bridleway Tyldesley No. 153. The alternative route for traffic is available from Chaddock Lane to Garrett Lane via the newly created public bridleway Tyldesley No. 153, as shown on the Order Map between Points G and D.
These public footpaths will be closed for a period of six months commencing on 20th February 2020 to safeguard the public from the proposed development of the site.
Request for Information in Relation to Land at Mosley Common Road
The Council is proposing a scheme for highway improvements on land referred to in the description of land set out below. In this respect the Council are required to ascertain all persons with an interest in the land required. A copy of the plan showing the land edged red, may be seen at all reasonable hours at the office of the Assistant Director - Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, and at Leigh Library the Turnpike Centre Civic Square Market Street, Leigh WN71EB.
Anyone with an interest in the land shown edged red on the plan should reply in writing to the Assistant Director - Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan WN1 1YN with their name, address and interests in the land and quoting ref CL45.270
