Very saddened by this news. Brian and his brother Graham and I used to play football and cricket together on Bishop Road playing fields. We then went to West Park. Brian and I shared similar tastes in music, and sports chat was never far away on our walk to school down Swinburne Road. We somewhat lost touch later on, but his brother Graham has kept me up to speed with family news over the years. I well remember his keen sense of humour. Condolences to Gillian, Gabriel, Sasha, Graham, Kathryn, and all family and friends. Rest in Peace Brian.

Thank you.

Very sad news. I first met Brian at West Park and we became firm friends. I vividly remember social events we attended together, including visits to each other’s, homes, discos at Windleshaw and St Teresa’s and many concerts (they weren’t called gigs in those days) including David Bowie, Free and The Who.
Brian was best man at our wedding, a day when he fought through his nerves to deliver his speech.
Although we lost touch after Brian left the St Helens area, I still remember his friendship and sense of humour with fondness. I’m sure he will be sadly missed by family and friends.
