Cycle lanes on Rainford bypass prove bumpy ride

Cycle lanes prove bumpy ride
THERE are two cycle tracks on the Rainford bypass yet only one is suitable for cyclists.
The St Helens-bound track is a proper road surface and an excellent cycle track. However the Southport-bound track surface is tarmac and is a real boneshaker to ride on and is virtually useless as a road surface for cycles.
This leaves riders with the choices of either using the dual carriageway or of crossing over onto the opposite cycle track resulting in having to go round the roundabouts the wrong way.
Neither option is safe and in these times when cycling and cycle tracks are being promoted by the government, perhaps the council could look into providing a proper cycle track surface.
It would be interesting to see if other cyclists have encountered the same problem.

Both cycle paths are "two way" so it isn't as if one ever needs to cycle on the one they don't like...
Seriously though, writer, don't get cross at the little things... You'll counter all that good work you're doing to your ticker by filling it full of stress hormones...
