I'm stumped (From St Helens Star)

We must all save the planet...but have some thought

IT’S a strange world... our local council is big on recycling. We have bins, boxes and bags for dividing up household rubbish.

Last week they insisted on sending the largest wagon money can buy down our tiny tree lined road (Forest Grove) in order to collect our old newspapers and plastic bottles.

Today, the council’s works department are here... cutting up the remains of of a mature tree that the wagon trashed whilst doing the collection.

So whilst we all beaver away to ' save the planet " under their instruction, a tree that was older than me is now just a stump thanks to their lack of forethought. Great!
