Accident waiting to happen at junction of City Road and Washway Lane

IT’S an accident waiting to happen... the Washway Lane/ City Road junction, where Cowley pupils and and pedestrians have to cross the road on a blind corner.

Every moring I see children taking a chance on crossing City Road towards Hard Lane.

Do we need another accident before something is done? This spot is only yards away from where a schoolgirl was killed on the East Lancs Moss Bank junction.

Could I suggest a crossing or continue the footpath up City Road to a safer crossing area.

Vegitation is also causing a visual obstruction.

Keith Langley, Kentmere Avenue, Moss Bank.

Can I suggest that the kids actually walk a hundred yards either way to a safer crossing point though I expect the fear about pedophiles waiting to pounce will knock that idea on the head.

Have you only just noticed it? That road and footpath layout has been exactly the same for years. My wife had to cross at that point forty years ago when she was a pupil at St Albans. I don't see where the problem is.. I think it is more an issue of kids not watching where they are going because they are more interested in the ever important mobile phone
