Arriva should listen to drivers

TO the people of Carr Mill, Moss Bank, Sutton, Sutton Leach, Clock Face, Sutton Manor, Thatto Heath....

What good is a bus service of every ten minutes when what you are getting is three buses every thirty minutes. When this route was 24 or 23 we had a bus every 20 minutes and these were always on time every time, non missing.

Not like now, running early and late or two and three at the same time. Do not blame the drivers, it is the stupid timetable they have to keep to, the management are trying to run a timetable that might have worked 20 or 30 years ago when traffic was half what it is now.

They should listen to the drivers, they know where, when and what time people use the route.

Is it true no one at Sutton Heath or Lowfield go out after 1800 hours?

So why stop the buses after 1800 hours, this means if you go out for the day you have get to be home by 1800 hours or you have to walk half way home, all up hill.

There's a lot of elderly people that live on the estate. So come on ARRIVA, put your brains where they should be and use them properly and not just for profit.

Feel sorry for us poor sods who in recent years have had to put up with these busses which never used to pass our house, having busses pass constantly throughout the day. The number of times I have seen 3 busses pass in quick succession, and even overtake each other as one is at a stop and the other has to because otherwise would be blocking a main road is ridiculous. And are these busses ever occupied? Hardly - maybe one quarter full at the busiest of times.

As for making these run after 6pm - if this happened, I for one would be less than happy because its bad enough having the noise of them roaring past constantly throughout the day - I draw the line of an evening!

sadly I was forced into the expense of a second car couple of years ago, owing to inadequate bus services from the town centre to the Newton area, these are overcrowded constantly especially at rush hour and in winter and they think nothing of simply not turning up on the odd Monday morning, causing yet more overcrowding for the subsequent bus as the poor sods who have been stood for 30+minutes join the next load.

After a couple of 4 mile walks home in the rain Id had enough.

Improvement urgently required throughout methinks

Can someone explain why one company is allowed a monopoly in any event? Surely healthy competition can't hurt the consumer

DaveP only 3 busses together? Between 2.10 and 2.45 on 22ndJuly 4 busses passed us in Billinge heading towards Wigan, whilst we waited for one to St.Helens which arrived at 2.45. They should be every 15 minutes.

It's the drivers that get it in the neck not the bosses who cannot see how to overcome a problem of a 14 week watermain work on a main route out of Wigan.
