I’M sending a belated 'thank you' to the lady who handed in my wallet, which I had put down at the checkout in B & M, to the staff, one of whom had recognised me from a spare bus pass photograph in the wallet.
This happened on Wednesday 24th June, later in the day, but as I wasn't aware that I'd left it there. I had gone to two other shops in the Hardshaw Centre and on going to withdraw some cash from a machine with one of my cards and realised it (the wallet) was lost.
By this time the shutters were down, and banging on the shutters I got the attention of persons, who told me that it wasn't there. Same thing back at B & M, banging on the shutters, when the staff member of aforementioned told me it was locked in the night safe and I was to retrieve it the following day, Thursday, which I did, but the story doesn't end there.
I was to go into hospital for surgery on Friday for the first time in 77 years .... after arriving there, being prepared for having the op. I was sent home because of a shortage of staff!
