Parade with pride...

Come and support your Armed Forces Past, Present and Future this Saturday, 27th June.

Veterans, your Local T.A. and Cadet Forces will be parading at the Cenotaph in St Helens for a service at 12 noon followed by a short ceremony of 'Beating the Retreat' by 103 Regiment Royal Artillery.

Any Service or Ex Service Personnel are to form up in Hardshaw Street at the side of the Town Hall at 11.40 hrs.

Members of the Royal Air Forces Association will also be collecting in your local Asda Store to help RAF Service personnel past and present also their dependants who have been injured or who are in difficulty, on both 26th & 27th June.

Please come and show your support for the Service they have and are doing for us all.

What a shame that the only recognition of this event has had to come from a letter written to the newspaper when all other local towns Warrington, Wigan etc. are running special events in honour of our troops both past and present.
It is a sad fact that St Helens seems to put more effort and promotion into free music festivals than this worthy cause. Whether it is due to lack of local publicity or what but I have seen only 1 business that is flying the flag for our lads and lasses in the whole of St Helens town centre.
