I WOULD like to thank the person who left a note on my windscreen while parked in St Mary’s car park on Saturday, August 4, sometime between 11am and 1pm.

They advised me that they had seen a car try to park next to me who had scraped the side of my new car and then just drive off to park elsewhere.

Fortunately they left the registration of the car who damaged mine, which I passed to the police as they were long gone.

My car is less than two months old and I am now left to foot the bill of repairs myself or go through insurance who will just put my premium up and effect my no claims.

Thank you 16 plate Mercedes driver who just drove off!

We cannot let people just commit crimes against the innocent any longer and just get away with it.

The media is the place to tackle such injustices through their powers and bring these people to account so innocent people do not continue to lose out.

The thank you note to the passerby is my main request but also to highlight to the driver to do the right thing, contact me to pay for the repair is all I ask to avoid police time and money and insurance claims- put this right.
