REGARDING the Marks and Spencer issue, and the bigoted views (from June 28 edition) 'What’s wrong with town M&S?'
He says he understands not everyone can drive, “really”, why should you have to get a taxi?
Whether you can afford it or not (I don’t do a weekly shop in there as I can’t) M&S in town has perfectly good access to the station.
There again M&S is open to all, including people younger than yourself, at least he is granted one wish – Poundworld is now closed.
Then next (July 19 edition) Alan Carmichael, as to using the store for a “conveyor belt,” it isn’t just as he says, for old people to access because I’ve had to negotiate a few pushchairs myself as others have.
I’ve walked through myself at times, but eh! Guess what? I’m also a customer holding the infamous “Sparks card.”
Just to finish, as regards updating, it could have been a good idea to remove countless rows of bras and lines of clothes and paraphernalia.
Maybe then there might have been room for a small cafe at least and it could have made some money.
These large chain stores could check to see what the public really wants, or maybe a suggestions box is a step too far?
