WHEN I was younger there was loads on offer for children and young people to do to keep them busy and there wasn’t the crime and destruction that is constantly in the papers today.

I know it’s easy for people to blame the parents, but these children are bored and quite frankly ill-educated as to the dangers of carrying around weapons like knives in public, which is not just parents' fault.

Unless you are camping, what is the reason to have a knife outside?

These children can’t all be stupid, so why are they making what can be such a horrible decision that could change their lives and others?

More needs to be done to offer these youths a safe place to be children, parks aren’t safe enough anymore because they take these knives out there.

I would be very wary of letting my grandchildren out if they are staying with me.
