I BELIEVE Marks & Spencer are making a mistake.
It’s just not as convenient to travel to a retail park as opposed to a plum town centre location and this is particularly true in the case of pensioners.
In last week’s editor’s column Andrew Kilmurray wrote that this is a decision driven by national change, with many other towns being affected.
But I would argue that St Helens has particular difficulties with regards to its town centre.
The town centre needs all the help it can get and I would urge Marks & Spencer to reconsider its decision.
