I LIVE on the Springfield housing estate in Rainford.
This is owned by Helena Housing and for a few years most of the residents have been asking for more car parking spaces to be made available as the area is severely overcrowded with cars and works vehicles.
It is currently at a state where the refuse lorries cannot gain access to all of the estate on a regular basis and neither can the emergency services.
We had an instance recently where an ambulance had to park on the car park of the social club in order to attend an incident in one of the flats as there was no way to get any closer due to the access into the parking area being blocked by inconsiderate drivers.
However, Helena has said that they have looked at this it is not financially viable to do something about.
There are always objections too from some when any more parking spaces are being created.
But what about when people need an ambulance, fire engine or the police in a hurry?
