I WELCOME the news that Conor McGinn wants the council to put more emphasis on finding brownfield sites to build on.
I would like to raise the existence of the compulsory purchasing order which has been around for the past 20 years.
This ruling clearly states that the council has the right to obtain land or property without the consent of the owner provided that the proposed development is considered one for the public’s betterment.
I feel there are places in St Helens – including the town centre – where CPOs could take place.
