A MAN who didn’t have a driving licence drove a stolen car at 80mph in a 30mph zone.

He drove through two red lights paying no regard to other members of society, he lost control, killing a four-year-old girl, and seriously injuring the girl’s grandmother who is still in hospital.

After striking them he did not seek medical assistance for his victims but instead ran from the scene and fled the country to evade capture and evade justice.

He has now been found guilty of death by dangerous driving and been given a jail sentence of nine years and four months.

The UK is a great nation but our (in)justice system is hugely inadequate. This sentence by no means reflects the crime, the life taken and the lives ruined.

No doubt the offender will be out of prison on licence in 50 months time.
We need prison industry, which generates income to cover some of the cost of keeping these people in prison, and this lad should have just landed himself a job for 20 years minimum.

As long as weak sentences are handed out we will continue to have idiots driving around with no regard to anybody.
