ON Thursday April 11, at about 4pm, I was heading through a footpath from Cumberland to Loweswater Crescent and, as I came to the end, I turned right and a gent on a push bike made his way towards that same passageway.

Within seconds I heard a calamity then a loud yell, so I hurriedly went back only to find the gent on the floor half tangled up in his bike.

After separating him from his bike he tried to stand up, but his balance wasn’t too good as he was still in shock.

I remained with him a short while until he reckoned he was able to go but personally I didn’t think so as the shock could be seen in his face.

As the evening passed the incident was on the back of my mind all the more as living so close meant I could have asked him to come back for a sit down and a drink.

If he does read this I hope he will inform someone at the Star if he is OK.
