IN RESPONSE to ‘Please move them on’ (Star letters, January 26) from “Concerned Resident, Rainhill” the writer suggests the town centre is in decline.

Does the writer imply that we need better and classier shops and stores in place of the excellent inexpensive shops such as B&M, Poundland, Home Bargains etc, which, by the way, provide good value.

If we had stores such as Harrods and the like we could all stand outside with our noses pressed up against the window pane. I suggest the writer stops, looks and thinks it through.
