IF the town wants to grow, in whatever direction that will be, then it needs to rewrite the rules on a town centre’s role and have a cohesive plan and policy on attracting the right type and size of businesses to the borough.
The town centre has to become a destination first, then commercial growth will come on the back of this.
The borough has to start to sell itself as offering something better than everybody else.
I have positive suggestions, along with most other people, but I don’t believe the political will is there to take them forward.
