I REFER to the council preferred options for release of green belt land, but in particular the rhetoric from certain councillors, including Cllr John Fulham as reported in last week’s Star.

Whilst I can understand he may support the planned development he clearly feels the views and legitimate and real concerns of residents should be ignored, and do not need to be addressed.

Ignoring the views of the electorate, from both local and national politicians, has led to the establishment being given a political bloody nose in both the Brexit vote and American Presidential elections.

By all means support the proposals and seek to outline the benefits, but at least acknowledge the concerns of residents and provide answers as to how you intend to address those issues.
