I BELIEVE that the local authority is correct in its ambitious plans for redevelopment in our town.
Over many years our industrial base has been devastated.
On housing we need affordable housing, including social housing as well as private housing developments.
Central government also needs to be engaged with our local authorities plans.
I also notice that the majority of placards against are in quite affluent areas. How many people with placards up have experienced redundancy and unemployment?
It seems to me that there may just be some kind of political agenda behind this opposition.
It is now time for all those people who wish to see our town begin to prosper again to stand up for working people who have lost their jobs in the past and for better employment opportunities for young people.
It is our town and our children’s future so please let us all get behind the plans
