JUST a few months back Merseytravel hit us with the new bus changes which have created a positive and negative impact.

While some of the services have improved by added Sunday and night services, a lot of services have changed routes and times which seem to make less sense when it was already working the way it was.

Other bus stations are easy to move around and get to your bus if you are in a bit of a rush.

However, in between stands four, five and six and stands seven, eight and nine they’ve installed a fence to the crossing without any warning, and also removed the dip in the kerb so it’s clearly permanent.

A few nights before I saw a temporary fence which I thought could have been for painting the zebra strips like the other crossings. But, to my surprise, a permanent fence was installed.

Personally, I don’t see how this improved the bus station.

People are risking their lives walking around the fence to get to the next set of stands instead of walking all the way around the bus station which takes longer in time. Which is understandable when you’re rushing for a bus.

People are clearly annoyed and we haven’t been given an explanation about this obstacle rather than improvement.
