I WAS walking my Yorkie up Boundary Road as we got to the entrance to the Linear Park when two dogs came flying out onto the pavement.

They started to push around my absolutely petrified dog and backed her into a corner.

I managed to pick her up but they kept jumping up and trying to get at her. I kicked one away and the two owners with them just stood and laughed.

I shouted at them to put the things on a lead, which they did do then walked off laughing towards the Knowsley Road/Eccleston Street junction.

I would like to thank the man, who ever he was, that stopped to ask if I was alright.

The dogs, in my opinion, appeared to be dangerous breeds. One was black and the other was a light brown. The two owners were wearing tracksuits and baseball caps.

The Linear Parks have suffered greatly over the summer months.

The police, in their wisdom, have pushed the drug and alcohol abusing louts from the big parks to the littler ones. So instead of dealing with the problems they have just displaced them.

We encounter many dogs on our walks, some are friendly some are not, but the ones who are not are on a lead and controlled.

Those types of dogs should always be on a lead as even if they are well behaved they are intimidating, which I’m sure is the point in a lot of cases.

So I would just like to make people aware of what happened to me and to take care when walking their animals through the Linear Park.
