I READ the story about the overworked accident and emergency department at Whiston Hospital and it prompted me to comment on the walk-in centre in St Helens.

It might well be a good centre, but parking is almost non-existent. This, I feel, is one reason why so many people from the surrounding areas choose to go to Whiston Hospital.

I am sure if funding ever became available that a small walk-in centre could be created at the hospital. Patients could then be directed to the centre instead of having to wait hours in A&E.

Perhaps this sounds to simple, but this is how I see a possible solution to the problem.

I wonder how many other people think the same as me?
