I READ read the story dated September 24 about “Junction parking” and as a resident of Station Road it leaves an awful taste in my mouth reading some of what was said.

If you would kindly read the following all is explained.

The people who park typically on the kerb, park opposite junctions and park in obstructing positions have created restrictions to myself and other residents.

These people are only interested in themselves not for problems they create leaving their cars all day.

As a person who has elderly parents and grandchildren, the road is made dangerous, people are forced to cross between parked cars and walk on the outside in the traffic. People's lives are at risk.

A while ago there was a pedestrian crossing island along the road, the inconsiderate parking made the road so impassable that when buses and wagons had to use the other side of the road, this was removed probably due to complaints by drivers of these vehicles.

In the article it implies things will change; this will probably be when there's some money but before that some will have to sent on repairing the pavement which is being destroyed through the parking, which also makes it dangerous for pedestrians.

You'd think these people are hard done by but these have created parking restrictions, lives being put at risk and dangerous pavements and if these people put their parking above people's safety then they must not have any conscience, and probably think as long as it's happening to someone else and not on their doorstep it's OK.

Finally when my wife has politely asked these individuals to consider what they are doing all that has come back is verbal abuse, this speaks for itself.

I don't have an answer, I've objected to certain restrictions being made and pointed most if not it all to the council at that time but it it fell on deaf ears. Maybe when it starts costing money in repairs they might do something.
