WE have road resurfacing taking place near where we live and at tea time I was coming home with my mother.
I drove my car past a van that had its door open and a road surface half in it. Through my opened window I said 'just watch your door' as passing. As I passed the very nice young man shouted down the street after me a flurry of swear words and abuse.
We were both shocked. I opened my window wide and shouted back 'who are you'.
He replied you, and he then repeated his statement, and added 'you nearly run me over'. The abuse continued.
Both my mother and I were shaking to have been verbally abused by a lad younger than my own kids. I phoned the council and was told I would receive a phone call probably the next day.
I'm still waiting for the apology I asked for.
For goodness sake, what are we bringing up? These youths need to have a GCSE in manners and respect. No wonder woman of today are intimidated by yobs like that. All I can say is "what if he had of spoken to your mother, wife, girlfriend, nan". How would you react?
