REGARDING the absolutely ridiculous topic of keeping dogs on leads.
You are probably wondering why someone from Warrington is writing about this, I am originally from St Helens and my parents still live here, and they have a dog, which I look after for them from time to time.
I can't believe that St Helens Council are even considering punishing responsible dog owners such as ourselves because the discourteous few. People take their dogs to the park to allow them to run and play.
When we let our dog off we are watching and checking his movements to clear up the waste, should he make any. He is a Cocker Spaniel, who needs lots of exercise to keep him healthy and keep his weight under control.
I also run at the Parkrun which is held in Victoria Park and the dog owners that I have whilst running are responsible, and keep their dogs under control.
Maybe Cllr Seve Gomez-Aspron, can tell us what the plan to do about catching those who throw glass bottles breaking them on the paths in the parks, which is dangerous to Humans and animals alike, instead of potentially hitting out at the majority because of the minority.
