IN response to "Internet speed is a farce" (Star, April 8). I live in the Haydock Lane area, and with no cable to obtain Virgin fibre broadband, I have to rely on a BT connection.

Being so far from the St Helens exchange, my internet speed is on average 0.6Mbps, which is extremely poor.

I have contacted BT numerous times to be told fibre optic will be available in the future, but they can't say when.

With the internet being an important everyday necessity in all our lives, the best way forward is for as many people as possible who live in and around Haydock Lane, or anywhere in the St Helens borough, to complain to BT.

The more complaints made, the higher the importance level rises and the sooner we can all have realistic usable internet speeds.
