IN response to 'Time to re-think the parking' by Sue Waterhouse (Star online, April 3) most of the main roads in town have those yellow lines on kerbs which means no parking.
Considering the size of our town centre I think the council do cater enough spaces for disabled people but the parking officers could use some flexibility with old people sticking their badge upside down.
I saw a very old couple getting very distressed one day because they couldn't understand why they had been fined and it was the result of them putting the badge the wrong way up.
Ironically, the wrong side shows the picture of the person the badge belongs too. It would stop people abusing disable parking by borrowing someone else's badges if they did photo checks.
