THE Turn 2 Us website turn2us.org.uk has just launched its Cut Out The Cold campaign which raises awareness of the free help available to those in fuel poverty which is essentially anyone living in a cold or damp home that they cannot afford to heat to an adequate level of warmth.
Fuel poverty is caused by low incomes, rising energy costs and energy inefficient homes.
Those on low incomes can use the free benefits check calculator on the Turn 2 Us website to see whether they qualify for extra help and they can use the free grants database to search for grants to improve the energy efficiency of their homes through boilers or insulation.
If high energy costs are a problem I recommend visiting an Ofgem approved price comparison site to switch to a cheaper energy supplier.
