OUR special dad, after a difficult time in hospital, was discharged from the Liverpool Royal to spend his last days at home with his family.
Dad was an extraordinary man who was loved dearly and we needed help to make him comfortable. The care he received from St Helens District Nurses, far exceeded anything we expected.
We cannot offer sufficient praise to them.
Dad's well-being and comfort was clearly paramount. All of the nurses displayed the highest standards of professionalism, care, humanity and understanding. It is difficult to imagine a finer example of the highest standards of nursing.
All too often these days one reads criticism of poor patient care in the NHS, but it is heartening to know it still exists. This wonderful group of nurses became our extended family. We could not have managed to give our Dad the care he deserved without them.
Thank you to them all from Thomas Critchley's family.
