I TOOK my family on a leisurely country stroll during the nice weather the other week. We started off at Sankey Valley and made our way up to Carr Mill Dam.

During our expedition I saw some interesting wildlife. For instance, I saw a plastic carrier bag calling to its young crisp packet offspring at the bottom end of Sankey Valley in Haydock near the Ship Inn.

It was so lovely to see. The place was absolutely brimming with such fauna! Chip cartons, empty pop cans, bags of dog excrement, you name it! I understand the scumbags who drop the litter in the first place are the core problem here, but come on St Helens Council, there are litter bins with no liners in them so even those who try to act responsibly get to see their garbage blowing in the wind. Sort it out.
