Once again a large area of reed beds on the Havannah flash, Sankey Valley Park, has been set fire to and destroyed.
This area of reed beds is a valuable breeding ground for summer visiting birds and wildlife, but again all is lost for this year thanks to the vandals who carried out this mindless act.
People of St Helens should think how lucky they are having somewhere as beautiful as Sankey Valley on their doorstep.
So please help protect it by reporting anything suspicious to the police or Sankey Valley rangers straight away.
Sankey Valley is your park help to protect it.
