Does our nation realise how far our government will go to suppress the reports it commissioned on the costs and feasibility of HS2?
It is even using legislation only meant to be used during war time to stop state secrets leaking out.
It is simply stopping an accurate report from revealing how the spiralling costs could put this country on its knees just to shave twenty minutes of the journey time to London. Not only does it not have any discernible benefit for the north west of England. As far as I can see the only people who will benefit will again be the south as it continues to suck more and more from the regions into the vortex called London.
We will get some scraps off the table, but at the moment the cost of this project is well south of £50 billion and will almost certainly need billions more. All this is at a time when we are going to need hundreds of more schools, and much more infrastructure just to deal with the countries disastrous immigration policies, which are going to suck in millions more people over the next decade.
There is a government in complete denial to the problems which will face us.
It should release the HS2 reports we have paid millions for, stop interfering with the democratic process, and cancel this ill advised project.
