IN the March 20 edition of the St Helens Star there was a full page advertisement by the political party UKIP.
I want to make particular reference to the photograph showing the demonstration against the bedroom tax.
I attended that demo along with my wife and daughter.
We were there with other members of the public and were there along with other members of the public, solely to oppose this hated tax.
John Beirne was the unofficial organiser and as far as we knew he was not representing any political party – and certainly not UKIP.
The photograph in his advert implies and suggests we were supporters of UKIP. I squirm at the thought and want to make it clear we are not.
I believe Mr Beirne should make an apology to anyone on that photo who has taken offence.

Haydock
