No-one can question the bravery of our armed forces
WHO is being beastly to the Brits? Who really said Britain is a small island which nobody pays any attention to, apart from Russian oligarchs who buy Chelsea?
The suspect: a senior aide to President Putin addressing Russian media, probably not meant for publication.
David Cameron was quick to respond, waxing lyrical on the merits and achievements of this small island (bless him) and even mentioned our music, alongside Elgar, The Beatles and One Direction. Wow! We’ve got culture too, that should boost our image.
Crisis averted. Suspect backtracked, denied all knowledge. Well, he would, wouldn’t he! That statement could have earned him a posting to Siberia.
Somebody said it! We do have some mega-rich comrades residing here. One of them bought Chelsea Football Club (they got that bit right).
If being small to Russians means insignificant, explain the mass migration of Eastern Europeans desperate to reach these shores with Russia on their doorstep. No room there then!
We are a soft touch and to the world eccentric (barmy), stuck in the past, with weird tribal customs.
That won’t get us down. Been there, done that ourselves. It’s our democratic right to moan and nobody does it better. One nation, four flags, it works for us!
There was a time we were knocking seven bells out of each other, as well as chasing Romans and Vikings. Hostilities are now confined to rugby and football.
We are still a United Kingdom and nobody can question our credentials, especially the bravery of our armed forces. We may seem like pussy cats, but cometh the hour can imitate the actions of a tiger!
Don’t mess with the Brits.
