Walk into Rainford proved real obstacle course
9:11am Thursday 24th January 2013 in Letters By Reader letter
I recently took my new granddaughter for her first walk out in her pram along Ormskirk Road, from near the railway bridge into Rainford village.
Unfortunately this proved more of an obstacle course as the footpath was strewn with dog dirt!
Are Rainford residents not proud enough of their village to clean up a bit? I live in another part of semi-rural Lancashire where there are waste bins provided and signs posted informing dog owners of the laws in force to deal with these lazy people and their pets.
Not that this should be needed – how difficult is it to clean up into a bag and take your mess home? Probably the same few inconsiderate people take their dogs for a walk in the same places each day so they know who they are and should be ashamed.
Sorry to rant and rave but while I’m on the subject, Rainford council need to have a look at the state of the pavements leading into the village because these too present bumps and holes and slopes that are far from easy to navigate for the public in general!
All in all not a good first impression of Rainford from a new granny!
Perhaps this could be passed onto the dog warden if you have one responsible for this area and to the council so that they may send someone to try and traverse these pavements in a wheelchair perhaps.
