“I HAD a hat when I came in; and I’ll have a hat when I go out.”
No matter how squiffily it sits on the head!
I spotted a framed picture of this amusing old character, proudly hanging at St Patrick’s Church House at Clinkham Wood.
No-one knows who he was, but he’s a fond favourite of Charisma Community Projects who use the premises.
What a remarkable old cove he looks.
Note the rakish angle of his flat cap and the huge lily he’s carrying, close to his chest, almost like a trophy.
The beard is grizzled white and the scruffy clothes look overdue for changing. But note those narrowed, twinkling eyes, and the deep furrows around them.
They point to a lifetime of laughter and jokes.
The picture is doubtlessly decades old.
But does anyone recognise this mysterious bygone character. If you do, then please let Charisma Community Projects know about it.
