Thursday night’s clash with Glossop North End at Edge Green Street ended in a 1-1 draw for St. Helens Town, but it was a valuable point gained in their fight to avoid relegation. The game started brightly with both teams on the attack, Wilson hit the post in the fourth minute and McGregor firing across the goal two minutes later, going close for Glossop, before Town hit back with a Phil Williams effort on 11 minutes, having robbed a Glossop defender on the edge of his box. The best chance of the half fell to Cole Ashton, who hit a stinging shot at Proctor on 25 minutes, which the keeper was relieved to block.
