THE appalling weather leading up to last weekend led to a complete white-out of fixtures in the Hallmark Security League last Saturday and St Helens Town are hoping for a return to action on Tuesday evening at Cammell Laird 1907.

All being well, Town will entertain New Mills on Saturday at Ruskin Drive (kick-off 3pm) in a reverse of the first game of the season, which saw the home side run out 2-0 winners at Church Lane.

Since the early months of the season, the Derbyshire side has slipped into the lower reaches of the First Division table, following successive relegations from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League North and then the Hallmark Premier League, so Town will be looking for a return to winning ways.

AFC Blackpool provide the opposition in a re-arranged game next Tuesday at the Mechanics Ground (kick-off 7.45) and Town will be looking to avenge a narrow 2-3 home defeat last October.

Blackpool started the season well and have maintained their push for promotion, so they will be a particularly difficult nut to crack on their own midden.
