DESPITE their dominance, Pilkington were still very sluggish and only broke the deadlock in the 41st minute.

Boylan’s miscued cross eluded the keeper at the near post and three minutes later Smailes finished at the back post to make it 2-0.

In the first minute of the second half Grappenhall had the ball in the back of the net but it was ruled offside.

On 60 minutes, Taylor’s 30 yard rocket flew into the bottom corner and now it was all too easy for Pilks.

Five minutes later Taylor broke free from a tackle to chip the advancing keeper to make it 4-0.

Birchall replaced the injured Frazer and in the 75th minute, Sephton released a 25 yard rocket to make it 5-0.

There were some neat finishes on show but the goal of the game came in the 81st minute. Kilgallon cut inside and danced past four players before calmly slotting from a tight angle. In the last min, Taylor tapped in to complete his second hat-trick in as many games.
