PILKINGTON were by far the better side in their 3-2 win over Golborne and completely dominated the first half, having all the possession and creating at 6-7 clear chances to finish the game off by half time.

Pilkington took the lead in the 10th minute when Gillam neatly chested the ball down and volleyed it in.

Golborne continued to ride their luck with Pilks missing more glorious chances to finish the game off.

The second half was the same with Pilks stifling any worthy Golborne attacks and a combination of fine goalkeeping and poor finishing continuing to make the game even.

In the 72nd minute, Taylor neatly slotted and minutes later Boylan converted a penalty to make it 3-0.

Pilkington were in complete control of the game but complacency set in with Golborne converting two crosses in the final 10 minutes. There was a last few frantic minutes for Pilks, who hung on to a much-deserved victory.
