RAINHILL Town maintained their push up the first division of the West Cheshire League, with this win over their Chester opponents.

After a uneventful first 20 minutes, the game came to life after Ryan Burke converted a fine free-kick.

Shortly after Luke Garvey extended Town's lead, slotting home after a great run from Paul Bathgate.

At the start of the second half Town increased their lead with Bathgate scoring.

The game seemed to be all over, but complacent defending allowed the visitors back in the game with two goals in as many minutes.

Town again extended their lead with a controversial fourth goal after the linesman adjudged the ball had crossed the line. Bathgate claiming his brace.

Substitute Davidson scored a debut goal which should have sewn up the game, but Blacon would not lay down and again reduced the arrears.

Finally a well taken individual goal from man of the match Burke sealed a well deserved win.

Town's 4th team maintained their superb run with a 4-2 victory against Mattiola in this first-leg Drinkwater Trophy cup tie.

Next week's fixtures sees the first team travel to Heswall.

The seconds at home to Ellesmere Port Town. The 3rds are away to Knowsley South Res and the 4ths away to Moorfield Res.
