Division One, Grange SC 5 v Rainhill Town 3rds 1.

Grange got back into the promotion mix with a superb win over a very good Rainhill town side who showed exactly why they were previously unbeaten over the season.

Rainhill began the game on fire and put Grange under extreme pressure, Grange responded with an astonishing twenty minute spell where they scored twice ,hit the bar and also had a goal disallowed. Rainhill shrugged off this and a serious injury to their keeper which caused a long delay by gaining a penalty deep into added on time which was superbly saved by Grange keeper Mitch Moores.

The second half began exactly the same with Grange having to defend as Rainhill threw everything at them, a goal seemed inevitable but unbelievably it was Grange who scored twice to make the scoreline 4-0.

Rainhill finally got the goal they deserved but once again Grange broke and scored again.

Two late dismissals further marred Rainhill's day but great game between two excellent teams. Goalscorers for Grange Scott Robinson with a hat-trick and two from Ryan Wilde.
