LIVERPOOL’S legendary substitute David Fairclough is coming to St Helens on Saturday to sign copies of his autobiography.
Suitably entitled Supersub – The Story of football’s most famous number 12, Fairclough tells his story of his eight years at Anfield from the mid 70s.
He will be at Wardleworth’s bookshop in Westfield Street on Saturday morning between 11.30am and 1pm.
Fairclough’s standing as one of the most famous goalscorers in the club's illustrious history is without question, but it was his role from the bench, as Liverpool's number 12 for which he is best remembered.
And sticking out for fans of a certain generation was Fairclough's winning goal in the 1977 European Cup quarter final against St Etienne.
