VULCAN travelled to Haydock Reserves in Division 2 of the Warrington District FL and came away with a share of the points.

Vulcan went behind after only 3 minutes when a mix up in defence lead to a cross not being dealt with. The ball stuck in the mud and was poked home by a Haydock attacker.

Vulcan settled well and began to get on top of the game with Ste Taylor and Matty Hart controlling the centre of midfield.

Vulcan had the better of the first half but couldn't find an equaliser.

Vulcan were level in the first minute of the second half when a free kick from Taylor found Gerard Van Den Hoek who slotted home from close distance for his third goal in two games.

Vulcan totally dominated the second half but were unable to get a winning goal.

Managers Man of the Match went to Damion Hankinson with Danny Edwards being awarded the Players Man of the Match.

Vulcan have two league games on Saturday, with the 1st team playing local rivals Earlstown Athletic in Division 2 at Mesnes Park and the Reserves away at Burtonwood 3rds in Division 5. Both games kick off at 2.30p.m.
