SAINTS boss Mike Rush must have been pleased to have broken his duck in games against derby rivals Wigan and spoiled the League Leaders presentation party in the process.

However, he was not getting carried away with the win against a Wigan side that played the last hour or so with 12 men.

Rush said: “We wanted to make sure we got a win tonight and I am pleased that we did that. We put a marker down that we are intent on getting to the Grand Final and going one better.

“There is a little bit of room for improvement and things we will have to get right in the play offs.

“We were proud of our performance but we have to get better. “It was about building some momentum ahead of the play offs. We got better this week against a really good side.”

Saints now travel to Warrington in the qualifying play-off on Saturday.
